Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable used for selected structural or skin-quality goals depending on the formulation and technique. It is not a hyaluronic-acid filler and cannot be treated as readily reversible with hyaluronidase, so anatomy, placement and realistic outcomes require careful medical planning.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. On injection the gel gives an immediate lift and structure, while the CaHA microspheres act as a scaffold that signals fibroblasts to build new collagen and elastin around them.

Over the following months the gel is absorbed and the microspheres are gradually metabolised, leaving a framework of your own collagen that sustains firmness and contour. It is well suited to defining the jawline, cheeks and chin, and is increasingly used in a diluted ("hyperdilute") form as a skin-firming biostimulator for the neck and hands.

On the day and afterwards

Radiesse is injected with a needle or cannula into the deeper dermis or subdermal plane to provide an immediate scaffold; for skin-quality work it may be hyperdiluted and spread over a wider area. A session takes about 30 minutes.

Temporary swelling, redness or bruising may occur and usually settles within days. Most people return to normal activities immediately, avoiding heavy pressure on the area at first.

When changes may appear

You see an immediate lift from the CaHA gel, while the microspheres stimulate new collagen so the result is sustained as the gel is gradually metabolised — typically lasting around a year or more.

How is Radiesse different from HA filler?+

Radiesse is calcium-based (CaHA) and both lifts immediately and stimulates collagen, giving more structure and a biostimulatory effect than standard hyaluronic-acid filler.

Can it be dissolved like HA filler?+

No enzyme dissolves CaHA, but it is biodegradable and metabolised by the body over time. Precise, conservative placement by a doctor is therefore important.

How long do results last?+
