Quick answer

Mesofat: what to know first

Mesofat is a broad clinic term rather than one standard medicine. Before considering an injection, the product, active ingredient, approved use and target anatomy should be identified; it is intended for selected localised fat concerns, not as treatment for obesity or general weight loss.

Suitable for
Selected small localised fat deposits after confirming the cause, skin laxity and anatomy
Discuss first
Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding, infection, bleeding risk, allergies, medicines, liver or kidney disease and previous procedures
Discomfort
Injection stinging, burning or tenderness varies with the product and area
Downtime
Swelling, bruising, firmness or numbness can occur; skin injury, weakness or swallowing symptoms need urgent review
When change may be noticed
Any contour change is assessed after swelling settles and may take several weeks; response varies
Alternatives
Weight management, energy-based contouring, liposuction or no treatment may be more appropriate

What is Mesofat?

Mesofat (mesotherapy for fat) is a course of small injections that dissolve localised fat that won’t shift with diet or exercise. At Hori we use Sisiface 10 ml for delicate facial areas such as the chin and cheeks, and Sisibody 35 ml for larger areas of the body. It is a contouring treatment for specific pockets — not a weight-loss programme.

How it works

01

A fine needle delivers the solution directly into the targeted fat layer.

02

The active ingredients break down fat-cell membranes, releasing the stored fat.

03

The released fat is cleared by the body’s natural metabolism over the following weeks.

Why it may help

Why Mesofat

  • Targets stubborn, localised fat that diet and exercise miss
  • No surgery, no general anaesthesia, minimal downtime
  • Sisiface for delicate facial areas; Sisibody for the body
  • Refines contour — a slimmer jawline or smoother silhouette

A doctor may consider it for

  • A double chin or fullness under the jaw
  • Small, diet-resistant pockets on the body
  • Prefer a non-surgical contouring option
  • At a stable weight wanting targeted refinement

On the day and afterwards

After a doctor assesses the area, the chosen solution — Sisiface 10 ml for the face or Sisibody 35 ml for the body — is injected through fine needles across a grid of points. A session usually takes 20–40 minutes; mild stinging or warmth is normal.

Temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising in the area is expected for a few days and is part of the fat-clearing process. Most people return to normal activities immediately. A short course of sessions is usually planned for the best result.

When changes may appear

Results appear gradually as the body clears the released fat, typically over a few weeks per session, with several sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart for a visible change. Because the fat is metabolised away, results are long-lasting when weight is kept stable.

Everyone responds differently. Before treatment, your doctor will examine the area and talk through a plan that makes sense for you.

Mesofat, answered.

Is Mesofat the same as liposuction?+

No. Liposuction is surgery that removes fat physically; Mesofat is a non-surgical injection that dissolves small pockets gradually, with far less downtime but a more subtle, staged result.

What is the difference between Sisiface and Sisibody?+

Sisiface (10 ml) is formulated for delicate, smaller facial areas such as the chin; Sisibody (35 ml) is a larger volume for body areas. Your doctor selects the right one for the area treated.

How many sessions will I need?+

It depends on the area and amount of fat. Many people need a short course spaced a few weeks apart; your doctor will advise a realistic plan at the assessment.

Is there much downtime?+

Usually little — some swelling, tenderness or bruising for a few days. Most people carry on with normal life right away.

A few things to know about Fat-dissolving injections

We last reviewed these sources on 23 July 2026. They can help you prepare for a consultation, but they cannot replace an examination or a consent discussion with your doctor.

What the evidence says

Fat-dissolving injections are not equivalent to liposuction. Ingredient, product registration, approved area and injector technique must be verified; evidence and authorised uses vary by product and country.

Risks worth discussing

Unapproved products and unsafe technique have been associated with infection, painful nodules, deformity and permanent scars. Do not self-inject or buy injectable products online.

Tell us before you book

  • Ask which exact product or device will be used and where.
  • Tell us about medicines, allergies, pregnancy, medical conditions and recent procedures.
  • Ask about alternatives, recovery and warning signs.

  2. Systematic review: serious adverse events after deoxycholic acid injection

Regulatory references describe their own jurisdictions and are used for safety context; they do not by themselves establish Thai registration or an indication for a specific product.
